ABOUT YOUR GUIDE

Hey, I’m Chiara. Growing up in the 90s and 2000s, Japanese pop culture, from iconic films like those from Studio Ghibli to the rise of anime, always had a special place in my life, creating a connection to Japan long before I ever visited.
My first trip was a few years ago, and since then, I’ve kept coming back—sometimes with family, sometimes with friends, and often solo. Every time, I’d spend hours researching, determined to find the best spots. And while I love deep-diving into travel planning (very on-brand for my German side), I kept running into the same problem: the same places kept popping up over and over.
Don’t get me wrong—famous spots are famous for a reason. But what I love most about traveling in Japan is the little things: wandering through quiet backstreets, stumbling upon a cozy café, chatting with a friendly shop owner, or just standing in front of a breathtaking view with no rush to be anywhere else. The kind of travel that lets you really take in the place, instead of just ticking sights off a list.
The other thing I noticed? Most itineraries out there either rush you around non-stop or don’t connect places in a way that makes for a relaxed trip. And then there’s the universal traveler struggle—standing somewhere, hungry, thinking, 'What’s actually good to eat around here? Like right now!`
That’s why I put together this site. Its itineraries are based on my own experiences, designed to give you a mix of structure and freedom. You get tested routes that make sense, without feeling like you’re on a tight schedule. You’ll find great places to eat, beautiful scenery, cultural gems, and local spots that don’t always show up in travel blogs.
I’m not a pro travel planner or influencer—just someone who genuinely loves Japan and wants to share the kind of trips I’d want for myself. If you’re looking for something a little more personal, well-researched, and designed for curious, thoughtful travelers, I think you’ll find something here for you.
Just grab a plan and start your adventure! 🚀🇯🇵
